Buckinghamshire's Competitive Dog Agility Club
We are a competitive dog agility training club, we train dogs from starters to competitive grade 7 handlers and dogs. We help many handlers across Buckinghamshire including those in Thame, Oxford and Aylesbury. We also have people coming to us from across Hertfordshire.
We are able to offer group training, small group training and 1:1 private lessons.
We have two training locations the first in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshrie and the other in Honeyburge, Buckinghamshire
Our facilities include an excellent indoor training school, flood lit all weather outdoor training menage, all weather grass sports field, coffee/social area, toilets and a pub just down the road at our Thursday training venue
We train on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30-9.30pm
All trainers are Agility Club Approved Instructors.
Graduate Agility Classes
We have two graduate agility classes one on a Monday the other on a Wednesday this is where you will start to progress their skills. Learn to jump and navigate agility obstacles correctly. These classes are intended for handlers and dogs’ who are not yet ready for competition due to either ability or age. You will be encouraged progress in your agility training developing your skills. Full competition agility equipment is used and as you and your dog are ready you will progress to the next level.
Novice / Competition Classes
All dogs and handlers at Diamond Dogz are encouraged to get to a competitive stage. We help you to improve and hone you and your dogs skills so you are ready to compete. This includes successfully being able to complete an agility course. We are able to help train your your dog with either stopped and 2 on 2 off contacts, 2 on 2 off being the recommended method for the majority of handlers. Our trainers are extremely friendly and work with you to meet your training criteria.
Advanced / Competition Classes
We have trainers at the club who are able to teach at the highest grade 7/championship level of agility.
The advanced class is for our higher level handlers who are looking to shave off 10th’s of a second in their agility runs to be able to beat their competitors.
Our classes will bring out the best from you and your dog.
Small Group Training
If you and some friends are looking for some help in a particular area of your agility training, we are able to offer small group training. We can tailor the lesson to help you meet your goals and objectives and provide you with the knowledge to keep progressing.
1:1 Dog Agility Training
If you are looking for a 1:1 agility training lesson in Thame, Oxford, Aylesbury or the surrounding areas of Buckinghamshire then you are in the right place. We can offer 1:1 lessons on whatever you need help with. Our championship level trainers will be able to provide you with training regardless of your level.
As well as our usual training lessons we also know that it is important to keep recieving training and get new insight and methods. To help with this we regularly hold training days from well known handlers including Barry Marks, Laura Chudleigh, Sian Illingworth and Craig Ogilvie to name a few.
Train the Trainer
If you run an agility club and are you looking to improve your agility teaching skills, then we can help. Our Head trainer Duessa Lipley’s experience within the ‘agility world’ spans more years than she will admit. As an Agility Club Approved Instructor (ACAI) and Kennel Club judge in addition to her work within education as a qualified teacher and sports development manager for over 30 years including the training of teachers, this enables Duessa to offer a specific course of “train the trainers”.
Classes are available at our Bernewode venue, or Duessa can come to your club on a convenient date and train all your trainers collectively. Train the trainer lessons are a perfect way to improve your agility teaching skills and improve how you teach your classes.
